Negative and interrogative forms

Negative forms of verbs

To create the negative form in Spanish, write No in front of the verb.

Examples: Yo no soy Carmen. (I am not Carmen.). Yo no tengo prisa. (I'm not in a hurry.). Él no está aquí. (He is not here.). No somos culpables. (We are not guilty). No tienes que hacerlo. (You don't have to.). No está preparado. (He is not ready).

Interrogative forms

In interrogative forms the subject and predicate change places, the subject is written after the verb.

Examples: Ud. tiene un bolígrafo - ¿Tiene Ud. un bolígrafo? (You have a pen - Do you have a pen?)
Carlos tiene perro. - ¿Tiene Carlos un perro? (Carlos has a dog. - Does Carlos have a dog?)

¿Quién? / ¿Quiénes? - Whose? / Who?
¿Cuál? / ¿Cuáles? - Which one? / Which?
¿Cómo? - How?
¿Dónde? - Where?
¿De dónde? - From where?
¿Cuándo? - When?

¿Por qué? - Why?
