The verb ser (to be) - in Spanish plays an important role, since it is used to confirm the value of its attributes to the subject. For example: Vera es alta. - Vera is tall. Pablo es listo. - Pablo is smart.

  Son las cinco. -It's five o'clock. Hoy es Lunes. - Today is Monday.

  Es mejor esperar. - It's better to wait.Es difícil aprender. - It's difficult to learn.
